A BRICC Wellness Centre program.

Beginners level yoga to help promote physical fitness, mental clarity, stress management and general wellbeing.

Yoga is generally defined as a set of practices or techniques that work to promote physical fitness, mental clarity, stress management and general wellbeing. The Wellness Centre is running a free Yoga class (beginner level) for cancer patients and their families.

Sessions are held every Thursday at 1pm.

What is yoga?

Yoga has been practised for thousands of years. It is a whole body philosophy, involving breathing work, stretching exercises, postures and meditation. Yoga can help to improve overall wellbeing and fitness by increasing muscle strength, bone density, cardio-vascular fitness, flexibility, balance and co-ordination.

What are the benefits?

Possible benefits for cancer patients include improvements in overall quality of life, mood, sleep quality and reduced stress and fatigue.
