A BRICC Wellness Centre program.

Art Therapy provides an avenue to express, explore and externalise thoughts feelings and behaviours.

Art therapy is not about creating a fantastic piece of art. You don’t need to be able to draw or paint. Art therapy is a form of emotional support and uses art to explore and express emotions.

Guided by a trained art therapist, you do not need artistic ability as the emphasis is on the process rather than the end product. There is no right or wrong way to do art-therapy.

On every Wednesday during school terms.

What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy is a treatment method that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being. In a small group setting, art therapy is a way of using visual art to express feelings and using the images created to encourage understanding of your emotions and concerns.

What are the benefits?

Research suggests significant benefit for art therapy in helping people with cancer deal with intense emotions, reduce stress, get back in touch with positive emotions, and ease physical symptoms associated with cancer or treatments.
