After nearly 16 years of unwavering service, Maureen Woodford is retiring from her volunteer role at Grampians Health. Maureen began her journey in January 2009, starting in the Emergency Department (ED). Over the years, she has generously contributed her time and energy across various departments, including the ED, Volunteer Liaison Group, Cheerleading Program during COVID, Volunteer Simulated Patient (VSP), BRICC Wellness Centre, and Volunteer Team Leader of the Welcome Team.

Grampians Health will soon reintroduce car parking fees at its newly expanded multi-deck car park at the Ballarat Base Hospital which will apply to vehicles parked for longer than three hours.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in Australia with almost one in five people dying from lung cancer. The thoracic oncology service at Grampians Health, set up in 2017 and delivered through the Rapid Access Lung Lesion Clinic (RALLC), has not only been setting standards in service delivery, but also leading research and gaining widespread recognition since its inception.

Ballarat cycling group, the Velorats, kicked off their 2025 Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay campaign with a launch event at Racer’s Café on Saturday, 8 February 2025. The community were invited to join their group ride at 7:00 am or a $15 breakfast at 9:30 am, with all proceeds donated to the Grampians Health through the Ballarat Health Services Foundation.

Peripheral Intravenous Catheters (PIVC) are one of the most used devices in acute hospitals. Up to 70 per cent of patients have at least one PIVC during their hospital admission.

Last Friday, the Grampians Early Parenting Centre welcomed a visit by the Premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allan and Minister for Planning, Hon. Sonya Kilkenny. Premier Jacinta Allan, along with Minister Sonya Kilkenny, Grampians Health Chief Executive Officer Dale Fraser, Member for Eureka Michaela Settle, and Member for Ripon Martha Haylett, toured the facility located in Lucas, Ballarat.

The much-loved book trolley at Ballarat Base Hospital now has a dedicated trolley, thanks to the generosity of eight donors who made this project possible.
