Together we are working to get the evidence we need to understand the health of our community. And yesterday the community participated in a phenomenal 920 tests for COVID-19 across Ballarat.

This included:

  • 248 people with coughs, sniffles, and other symptoms who booked appointments at the BHS Sebastopol and UFS Lucas clinics.
  • 250 people with no symptoms who came to our pop-up testing clinic at the Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility, Morshead Park.
  • 42 staff were tested at Mars as part of a mobile workplace testing clinic run by BHS.
  • Nearly 300 healthcare workers who have no symptoms.

Asymptomatic

We have set up a temporary testing clinic at Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility, Morshead Park to test people with no symptoms who have been keeping our town running while we have been staying home – supermarket workers, healthcare workers, construction teams.

If you haven’t been able to work from home and haven’t got any symptoms, we urge you to be tested. The temporary testing clinic for asymptomatic (no symptoms) members of the general public is open 9am – 5pm.

Symptomatic

If you have mild cold or flu symptoms you are strongly encouraged to get tested at either the Lucas or Sebastopol clinics.

The test itself is via a nasal and mouth swab which takes about 3 minutes. There is no cost to have the test, and average wait times at clinics has been less than 30 minutes.

UFS Lucas Clinic - Appointments must be made by calling 03 43 11 1571 or by booking online here

BHS Sebastopol Clinic - Appointments for this week must be made by calling 03 5320 8889

Up to date information on testing is available at https://www.bhs.org.au/news-and-events/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-for-covid-19/

The more people we test, the better we can track the spread of the virus and decide next steps.
