With extensive experience and expertise in infrastructure development and a proven track record in delivering multi-million dollar projects across various sectors including roads, public transport, national parks and community sport, Mr Squire will play a pivotal role in driving Grampians Health’s capital projects to new heights.

In his new role, Mr Squire will oversee many aspects of infrastructure planning, construction, and renovation initiatives of capital projects across all of our campuses including Grampians Health’s Early Parenting Centre which is expected to be completed early 2024. While Mr Squire's role does not take in the $595.6 million Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment (Project Director Nicole Lancer leads the BBHR and other projects associated with the hospital upgrade), Nicole and Stuart will together deliver infrastructure that enhances patient outcomes through their respective projects.

Having held key senior project management positions at VicRoads and most recently Parks Victoria, Mr Squire has demonstrated exceptional project management skills of complex state-wide facilities.

Chief Redevelopment and Infrastructure Officer Veronica Furnier-Tosco said she was delighted to welcome Stuart to the team.

“Stuart’s visionary approach and commitment to excellence align perfectly with Grampians Health’s mission to provide the highest standard of care to our patients including care closer to home,” Ms Furnier-Tosco said.

"His extensive background in infrastructure development will be instrumental in driving our infrastructure projects forward, ensuring that our facilities support the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

“Stuart will work closely with hospital stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal departments, to ensure seamless execution of capital works projects.”

Mr Squire said he was thrilled to be joining Grampians Health and contributing to projects which would ultimately help deliver more and improved healthcare services across our regions.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining the team with so many fantastic infrastructure projects already underway which will provide many healthcare benefits to our communities,” Mr Squire said.

“The project which saw the relocation and expansion of the Diagnostics Department late last year has already delivered excellent outcomes to residents across the Grampians region in the first six months and provided care closer to home for many. It’s estimated the new Diagnostics Department will provide the community with access to an extra 1500 examinations each year. Already this year, patient throughput has improved 10 per cent compared to the same time last year. This is a great example of the capital projects delivered by the team that I’m now pleased to be part of.

Having grown up in Ballarat and studied at Federation University, Mr Squire is passionate about delivering modern facilities in regional areas including his hometown that will provide our communities with the best possible care.

Mr Squire lives in Ballarat with his wife Bec and their 14-month son. He also played cricket for Buninyong for many years and while he currently doesn’t play, he still supports the club and remains connected.
