Grampians Health Cancer Wellness Centre has again received a welcome boost, with a $10,000 donation from Camp 4 Cancer to help enhance care and support services for people affected by cancer.

This marks the second year in a row that Camp 4 Cancer has chosen to support the Wellness Centre, reinforcing their commitment to not only funding vital research, but also improving quality of life for patients and families navigating cancer.

Camp 4 Cancer President Mark McGrath said the group was proud to continue its support of the Ballarat-based service.

“We started Camp 4 Cancer to raise money for cancer research, but as we’ve grown, we’ve recognised how important it is to also support the people living through cancer right now,” Mr McGrath said.

“The Cancer Wellness Centre offers the kind of compassionate, community-based care that aligns so strongly with our mission. Being able to donate another $10,000 this year is something our whole community of campers and volunteers can feel proud of.”

Based in Ballarat, and powered by community donations, the Cancer Wellness Centre provides wraparound support for cancer patients and their families — including counselling, support groups, exercise and wellness programs, and assistance navigating treatment.

Simone Noelker, Manager of the Wellness Centre and Pastoral Care at Grampians Health Ballarat, said the continued support from Camp 4 Cancer makes a tangible impact.

“Camp 4 Cancer’s generosity allows us to keep delivering the services that patients tell us matter most — the kind that help them feel seen and supported through every step of their journey,” Simone said.

“From emotional wellbeing to physical recovery, this donation will directly benefit people in our region who are going through one of the toughest experiences of their lives.”

Camp 4 Cancer is a volunteer-led charity event, with tickets now on sale for their 2025 Wallan Camp, running from Friday 14 November to Sunday 16 November. The weekend promises live bands, home-cooked food, camping, non-stop kids’ activities, raffles, auctions, a candle and memorial ceremony — plus plenty more.
