Grampians Health Ballarat runs a comprehensive prevocational training program for new medical graduates at the PGY1, PGY2, PGY3+ and lead-in training for many of the vocational training programs in most specialties, inclusive of the Grampians Rural Generalist pathway.

Prevocational Doctor – Post Graduate Year 1 (PVD – PGY1)
There are 35 PVD – PGY1 positions at Grampians Health Ballarat. Each PVD – PGY1 will complete five rotations. All rotations are based in Ballarat at either the acute or sub-acute site.

All PGY2+ posts are advertised on the Grampians Health Ballarat eRecruit website in late May each year. The PVD-PGY1, PGY2, BPT1,2 and BPT3 positions are allocated by a state matching process run by the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria.
