Radiology

All medicare rebateable services provided by BHS Radiology are bulk billed and with no additional fees charged.

Out of pocket fees apply for non-medicare rebateable services.

BHS Radiology accepts all radiology referrals with no bookings required for general X-ray and OPG.

BHS Radiology Department conducts over 100,000 examinations annually. The department offers low radiation dose, state-of-the-art technology and provides a range of services including:

BHS Radiology (Base Hospital)

  • High resolution DR radiography
  • Ultrasound including 3D and 4D imaging
  • (2x) 128 Slice CTs including Low Dose technology
  • 3T MRI (Purpose built facility)
  • Nuclear Medicine including SPECT CT
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Interventional Radiology and Angiography
  • Portable and theatre radiography
  • OPG
  • Digital Mammography
  • Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

Queen Elizabeth Centre

  • DEXA Scan (Bone Densitometry)
  • Grampians BreastScreen

Accessing Images and Reports

Images are stored on the Picture Archive Computer System (PACS) and are available online or by request on hardcopy and CD.  The BHS Radiology department provides comprehensive report distribution via fax, hardcopy and electronic means.  Results and images are also available on the BHS intranet through BOSSnet. Urgent results are available by calling the Radiologist Hotline on 5320 4452.

Images can be accessed online through the Inteleviewer Portal.
