Radiology

All services provided by BHS Radiology are bulk billed and there are no additional fees charged.  BHS Radiology accepts all radiology referrals with no bookings required for general X-ray and OPG.

BHS Radiology Department conducts over 100,000 examinations annually.  Radiology services are provided by Base Imaging Group.  The department offers state-of-the-art technology and provides a range of services including:

  • High resolution CR & DR radiography
  • Ultrasound including 3D & 4D imaging
  • 128 Slice CT including Low Dose CT
  • MRI
  • Nuclear Medicine including SPECT CT
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Interventional Radiology & Angiography
  • Portable & theatre radiography
  • OPG
  • Mammography
  • Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

Queen Elizabeth Centre

  • DEXAScan (Bone Densitometry)
  • Grampians BreastScreen

Accessing Images and Reports

Images are stored on the Picture Archive Computer System (PACS) and are available online or by request on hardcopy & CD.  The BHS Radiology department provides comprehensive report distribution via fax, hardcopy and electronic means.  Results and images are also available on the BHS intranet through BOSSnet. Urgent results are available by calling the Radiologist Hotline on 5320 4452.

Images can be accessed online through the Inteleviewer Portal.

Weekdays  
General X-Ray 7:30am to 6pm
  Emergency radiology is available through the Emergency Department outside of these hours.
CT and Ultrasound 7.30am - 6pm

MRI 7am to 7pm weekdays
   

 

Weekends

Locations

BHS Radiology   BHS Radiology is located on the ground floor of Ballarat Health Services on Drummond St North. Car parking is available off Mair St.
Queen Elizabeth Centre QEC Mammography & DEXA services are co-located with Grampians BreastScreen. Access is available from Dana Street. Car parking is available on Dana Street.
MRI Services MRI is located in the Medical Services building of Ballarat Health Services.
