Acute Care

Acute care is provision of medical treatments and procedures for a short-term illness or health problems.
We offer a comprehensive range of medical services including general medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology and endocrine and diabetes management to name a few.
The surgical services at Ballarat Health Services have as their flagship an outstanding theatre complex and Perioperative Day Procedure Unit including the latest in theatre and endoscopic equipment.

Sub-Acute Care

This medical care is generally non-emergency, longer-term care. The excellent facilities at our Rehabilitation Centre house our world class Rehabilitation facility, Geriatric Assessment and Palliative care.

Psychiatric Care

Ballarat Health Services Psychiatric Services strives to ensure that every client, their families and carers, have access and receive internationally recognised, best practice treatments.
The practices and treatments are adopted to provide people with mental illness the greatest opportunity to recover, and return to pre-illness functioning.

Community Programs

Our community care programs extend the quality care that patients receive in hospital, either as an acute care patient, or after care in our sub-acute facilities.
Examples of community services are Aged Care Assessment, Extended Aged Care at Home and Hospital in the Home.

Residential Care

Each of our residents is an individual in their own right, and have their own ideas and experiences of life.
