The Paediatric and Adolescent Unit at Ballarat Health Services is a 19 bed unit which offers specialist care for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.
The staff are committed to family centred, individualised care which encourages the involvement of family members in the child's management.
Paediatric services at Ballarat Health Services are extensive with most medical conditions able to be cared for locally.
With up to 800 presentations of children per month to the Emergency Department, the ward admits up to 200 children a month and we have extensive community care services.
The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by a highly dedicated team of paediatric nurses, hospital medical officers and consultant paediatricians.
